The conventional machinist will work independently and with minimum supervision to produce high-tolerance parts utilizing a conventional milling machine, either vertical or horizontal style. Parts may be produced from drawings, sketches or verbal instructions and may be prototype, short run, production or the first article in a production run. The conventional machinist will inspect completed work and will design, fabricate or assist with fabrication of tooling when required.
Must have own tools, read blueprints and be capable of accurately verifying and inspecting all work performed. Must be familiar with the working characteristics of a wide range of metals and be able to work with minimum supervision.
