·   GED/High School Diploma Required

·  AA in Diesel Mechanics highly desired but not required

·   Must have valid and clean drivers’ license. NON-DOT

·   Must be proficient with computers and use software to diagnose and repair component systems.

·   Must be able to operate truck mounted crane.

·  Ability to provide own basic tools.

 

Other Qualifications

  • Ability and aptitude to allow rapid/learning of complex mechanical trade work.
  • Proven ability to operate a service truck in and around heavy traffic.
  • Ability to provide timely customer service at all plants or locations.
  • Must be flexible in work schedules and start times.
  • Ability to occasionally travel up to one (1) week at a time if required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervisor own work and be self-motivated.

Must have good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Educational Skills and Experience

  • High school Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2 years experience in mechanical work in the capacity of maintenance technician or as a lubricator technician.

 

Required Skills

  • Must possess an excellent attitude and team player.
  • Willing to learn new techniques and method to perform maintenance.
  • Must possess ability to communicate and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Express opinions and disagreements in a respectful way while maintaining an open mind and positive attitude, especially when things don’t go in the way they were expected to.
  • Must possess and demonstrate practical mechanical aptitude.
  • Must possess skills on the usage of mechanical hand tools including, but not limited, to came along, jacks, and hydraulic torque.
  • Must be able to complete the assigned task with the require quality for a Mechanic Level I.
  • Must possess the ability to weld and oxyacetylene cutting.
  • Must be able to work in a physically challenging and sometimes stressful environment; to take direction from supervisor and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to understand and to follow supervisor’s instructions, safety rules and regulations, equipment operating instructions and danger notices.
  • Must be able to exercise common sense in the operation and safety of all equipment, machinery and vehicles; to work under pressure to solve problems, meet deadlines in performing work in a timely fashion
  • Must know how to perform measurements with basic measuring tools like caliper and micrometer.
  • Must be able to read technical drawings.
  • Must know how to operate a forklift.
